Genius Rolls Out GHP-240X In-Ear Headphones

Genius, a fairly popular brand based in Taiwan has rolled its GHP-240X range of headphones in the market. The in-ear design lent to the ear phones, Genius claims, translates to a comfortable music experience.



The headphones come with a 13.5mm voice coil and includes three cushion sizes to let the wearer pick the right size. Also included is a gold plated 3.5mm connector. The GHP-240X can be plugged into the iPod, iTouch, iPhone, mp3 players, as also portable audio devices, and is available in blue, green, pink and purple.

The Genius GHP 240X is being made available in the market for Rs. 660, coupled with a year’s warranty.

ASUS Unveils Server with Intel Xeon Phi and NVIDIA Tesla K20/K20X

ASUS servers have proven their capabilities as part of the MOGON supercomputer project, which was co-developed by ASUS and Megware for Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and ranked 81 on the prestigious TOP500 supercomputer list in June 2012. ASUS now presents one of the world's first servers to support the Intel Xeon Phi 5110P coprocessor and NVIDIA next-gen Kepler-based Tesla K20/K20X GPUs, unveiled at the 2012 Supercomputing Conference, held November 10-16 in Salt Lake City, Utah.




The ASUS ESC4000 G2 Series provides up to 4TFLOPS peak computing power, delivering extreme hybrid performance as demanded by HPC customers. ASUS also offers ESC2000 G2 and ESC1000 G2 Series servers and workstations with ASUS SSD technology that accelerates storage by up to three times in workstation-related tasks.

Panasonic expands its projector portfolio with PT-DZ21K series

Panasonic has announced a 180 percent sales growth over last year in the projector segment. The growth is 250 percent in quantity. Expanding its existing range of projectors with 28 new models in the past four months, Panasonic now has an array of 53 projectors. 



In an official post, the company shares that this expansion will enable it to reach out to a wider array of consumers. Panasonic has, in its portfolio, cited an extensive variety of best in class projectors ranging from 2,200 lumens to 20,000 lumens within the price range of Rs 28,000 to Rs 35,00,000. These include LCD projectors, targeted specifically at corporate institutions, education institutions, and government organisations, home cinema projectors meant for the premium individual users, and the high-end DLP Projectors for multiplexes, offered at a price range of Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 35 lakh. Panasonic claims that the portfolio of 53 models is capable enough to satisfy the dynamic needs of the market for diverse applications such as presentations, video conferencing, digital signage, rental and e-cinema.

The new additions include the full HD 3D home theatre projector AE8000E and the PT-DZ21K series. As per the official statement, the AE8000E embodies Panasonic’s 11 years of home cinema projector engineering, and delivers higher level of picture quality in 2D images packed with advanced 3D features. It has been priced at Rs 250,000 (MRP), and is backed by a two-year warranty.

The PT-DZ21K series, along with the development of portrait mode capability, has 20,000 lumen of brightness. It has been priced at Rs 35 lakh (MRP).

AMD FirePro Server Graphics Redefining Supercomputing Performance

AMD has collaborated with the University of Frankfurt's Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS) to deliver a new standard in power-efficient supercomputing with the SANAM supercomputer, securing the number two ranking on the latest Green500 List. The supercomputer will aid FIAS in quantum chromodynamics research.


Powered by 420 AMD FirePro S10000 dual-GPU server graphics cards based on AMD Graphics Core Next Architecture, the SANAM supercomputer redefines supercomputing with its incredible power efficiency.

Capable of sustaining 420 TFLOPS, providing a system energy efficiency of over 2.3 GFLOPS per watt and performing 2,351 million calculations per second per watt, the SANAM supercomputer is shifting the industry mindset of determining performance through FLOPS to focusing on eco-conscious measurements like performance-per-watt. This latest AMD technology milestone comes two days after the announcement that AMD Opteron processors power the world's highest-performance supercomputer, "Titan," as ranked on the Top500's Supercomputer Sites list. SANAM is a joint project of Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As an integral part of the high-speed cluster (HSC) project, Adtech Global provided technical research to identify a systems solution that would not only work for the high-speed cluster HSC application, but could also provide long-term development and modifications opportunities.

"We focused on utilizing technologies which would provide the ability to continuously improve performance, lower costs and reduce power consumption in the future," said Rick Rozalsky, vice president of Global Business Development at Adtech Global. Skype Launches New Online Platform for Small Businesses

Skype today launched to the public Skype in the workspace (SITW), a new online platform for small businesses to instantly connect with potential customers, partners and suppliers across the globe.



The free-to-use tool makes use of the huge network already offered by Skype, allowing millions of small businesses to promote their products and services to new networks and connections.
