HTC has added yet another smartphone to its Desireseries, with the launch of HTC Desire 830 in Taiwan. The smartphone was first announced at Mobile World Congress this year. The Desire 830 will be available in white & orange and white & blue colour combinations. The smartphone is priced at $310, and will go on sale in Taiwan from May 6. However, there’s not much known about the phone’s global availability.

As far as the specifications go, the HTC Desire 830 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display (1080×1920 pixels) and is powered by an Octa-core 1.5 GHz CPU. It comes with 3GB of RAM and has 32GB of in-built storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. The HTC Desire 830 has dual-sim connectivity and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
Coming to the cameras, the HTC Desire 830 is equipped with a 13MP rear snapper with LED flash and optical image stabilization, and an Ultrapixel front-facing camera. The device also has dual front-firing speakers powered by Boomsound and Dolby Audio. Connectivity is solid all around too, with 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS on-board. The whole package is backed by a 2,800 mAh battery.

Recently, HTC launched a $100 million startup accelerator programme aimed at promoting VR technology. Dubbed Vive X, the programme is meant to provide mentorship to VR startups that want to use the company’s VR technology.
